What kind of community has no members?

We want to make sure you all know who’s showing up to the Web Community Forum, Seattle 2007: Community Building in the Age of Facebook.

When you sign up, I’ll shoot you an e-mail (or you can just be ahead of the game, and send it to jason (at) webcommunityforum.com right away) asking for your pic and your bio. I’ll be throwing it up here, along with all the other cool people we’re looking forward to hanging out with this December.

Weaver helped several of these organizations take their first steps into Internet marketing, then went on to senior positions at Young & Rubicam, Foote Cone & Belding, and Hamburg-based Kabel AG. As an online strategist, he led Ford management to embrace online video, and persuaded management at Ford, Mattel, and Taco Bell to pursue the Internet as a new communications and sales channel. His work has been reviewed by industry giants like Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Jack Welch, Jill Barad, and Jerry Yang.

Weaver’s company, Brand Dialogue, is a Marketing 2.0 consultancy, helping businesses build conversation, community and revenue around their customers. He’s a member of the American Institute for Graphic Arts, the American Marketing Association, Ad Club of Seattle, the Seattle Podcasting Network, and the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Northwest. He is also the founder of the Seattle Flickrites, one of the largest social photography groups in the world.

Ellen Petry Leanse ( Founder, 222do )

John Haggard ( Vice President Business Development, Passfaces Corp. )

jhaggard.jpgJohn is a pioneer in the design, development, and delivery of advanced state-of-the-art information security products for 65% of international corporate, government, and educational institutions for over 25 years. He has extensive experience ranging from large mainframe enterprise systems to large Internet distributed systems.

He was a member of an elite team that developed and deployed the world’s first extended user authentication infrastructure for authentication beyond passwords in the mid 1980’s. John served as the ACF2 Development Manager for SKK. Inc., then as Product Owner of the Security, Control, and Audit division of CA (NYSE: CA) until 1994.

Since then John, has led startup companies deploying biometrics and one time passwords servicing international financial institutions. John served as President, COO, and CTO of VASCO Data Security International (Nasdaq: VDSI), bringing that company into the market in 1994. Since 2000, he has served on the board of directors for numerous intellectual property companies in the field of advanced smart card technologies related to authentication and security. John has a BS in Computer Science, from Northern Illinois University.

Sam Whitmore ( Editor, Sam Whitmore’s Media Survey )

sam whitmoreSam Whitmore is the founder and editor of Sam Whitmore’s Media Survey, providing tech media analysis and consulting to tech PR pros and media buyers. Whitmore also hosts a weekly teleconference series featuring prominent tech editors.

A former media columnist for Forbes.com, Whitmore is a frequent public speaker and often is interviewed regarding tech media for print and broadcast. Whitmore spent 14 years at Ziff-Davis Publishing, 12 at PC Week as a reporter, editor, columnist and editor-in-chief. He later served as a company vice-president in business development, and served as an on-camera reporter for Ziff-Davis Television (ZDTV) before leaving to launch Sam Whitmore’s Media Survey in April 1998.

Managing editor Christy Andrade joined SWMS in August 2005 after five years at CNET and ZDNet as an audio and video producer, with specializations in both enterprise and consumer technology.

Sean O’Driscoll ( General Manager, Microsoft )

During his early years in the company, he held several positions responsible for the recruitment, development and engagement of Microsoft Partners. As part of these responsibilities, Sean was accountable for developing business alliances with many of our largest Independent Software Venders, including Great Plains Software, Siebel Systems and Computer Associates to name a few.

In 1998, Sean joined Microsoft’s professional services organization and helped establish Microsoft’s first support and consulting business focused on global ISV, System Integration, and OEM partners.

In January, 2003 he re-joined Customer Service and Support as Director of MVP and Technical Communities. In his current capacity as General Manager, Community Support and MVP, Sean is responsible for developing community based support models and leading the worldwide MVP program designed to award and recognize amazing individuals in technical communities around the globe who share a passion for technology and the spirit of community.

Sean, graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with degrees in Business Administration and Philosophy and now lives just outside Seattle, Washington with his wife Kari, and two daughters, Erin and Lauren.

Mari Smith ( Relationship & Lifestyle Specialist, MariSmith.com )

Chris McCoy ( CEO, YourSports )

Chris McCoyChris started YourSports with the belief that sports are more than a game and the open web can highlight that for the rest of the world. As the CEO, Chris leads the business development, operation, and product strategies for the company. Previous to YourSports, Chris started two successful ventures while an undergraduate at the University of Washington–PitchSmarter.com and the non-profit I Love Baseball Foundation (ilovebaseball.org).

Before college, Chris served DECA (deca.org) as its student National President. He then went on to play briefly for the UW baseball team, before diving into the world of entrepreneurship and sports media, eventually leading him to founding YourSports.

Sharon Baerny ( Marketing Maven, We Know Words )

Jude O’Reilley ( Director, Trusera )
JudeJude is responsible for product management and marketing at Trusera, an invitation-only network of people that care about their health. Jude joined Trusera with more than 10 years of Internet sales, marketing and product management experience.

He began his career at Gartner Group, where he was a top-ranked presenter at Internet and networking security events worldwide. At Gartner, Jude was responsible for coverage of more than fifteen companies before leaving to lead the Product Marketing organization at Aventail Corporation, an internet security firm. While at Aventail he was responsible for more than thirty product launches and was awarded a patent for his contributions to new Internet technologies.

He helped create the Aventail.Net managed service business, and later joined a managed services company that acquired that line of business. Joesph Mouhanna (Chief Executive Officer, Entecom )

Prior to Entecom, Joseph spent 18 years at Microsoft in a number of executive research, development, program management and business development positions. While at Microsoft, he started and led some of the most important initiatives in broadband public networks, wireless networks, and home automation. Joseph’s efforts resulted in the mass deployment of DSL, as well as the most common standards in wireless networks and enabling existing homes to be networked through existing phone and powerline wires.

Joseph’s pioneering work helped the home automation industry go mainstream and laid the foundation for what’s now becoming the Digital Life. While at Microsoft, Joseph was Chief Networking Architect for Windows, enabled Microsoft Windows for European and non-European languages, traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia, and managed programs in the Programming Languages division, specifically being part of the team that delivered the industry’s first Object-Oriented Compiler.

Margot Sinclair Savell ( VP, Media Intelligence and Measurement, Weber Shandwick )

Margot Sinclair Savell is a vice president of Media Intelligence and Measurement for traditional and social media at Weber Shandwick in Seattle. Margot leads a team of analysts who review blogs, forums, social media communities and traditional print and broadcast media to measure and evaluate marketing and public relations programs. Most recently, he’s been the top new business/salesperson for Portland, OR, ad-agency Babcock & Jenkins.

Tony Audino ( Managing Director, Conenza )
Tony serves as Managing Director for Conenza. Audino has over 25 years of executive and entrepreneurial experience in business software and services. He spent seven years at Microsoft Corporation and since leaving has founded five companies including the Microsoft Alumni Network in 1995, where he currently serves as Chairman. Audino also co-founded and served as Managing Director of Voyager Capital, a Pacific Northwest based venture capital firm with $365 million under management where he sourced and sat on the boards of many companies including Captura Software, acquired by Concur Technologies (NASDAQ:CNQR) and Global Market Insite. In addition to Conenza, he currently sits on the board of The Threshold Group.

Kathi Jones ( Managing Director, Conenza )
Kathi serves as Managing Director for Conenza. Jones has spent over 10 years building operations and human resource programs for small to mid-size technology start-ups. She became Executive Director of the Microsoft Alumni Network in January 2003 and prior to MSA was Vice President of Corporate Services for Aventail Corporation, overseeing the company’s human resources and operations. Prior to that, she was founder and President of KAJ Consulting, providing human resource planning, recruiting, and operational design services to small and mid-size technology companies. Prior roles include Regional Marketing Director for a division of AT &T Media Services, and regional management roles for both Banana Republic and The Gap Corporation.

Jones graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington with degrees in English and Communications. Her community interests include serving on the boards of the Female Editorial Board of the Puget Sound Business Journal, and Tully’s Coffee Company. She also founded the female executive networking group, FEMM, and the Worldwide Alumni Roundtable, and is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and the American Society of Association Executives, and is a guild member for Children’s Hospital in Seattle.
