[...] Unconference Session B [...]
…oops, I think Dec 6 is Thursday, not Saturday. Just a wee typo.
See y’all there.
Cheers,
Mari
Whoops! Thanks for the catch.
Would it be possible for one of the unconference sessions to discuss what keeps a very diverse community coming back? Also, another that looks at what is in the future for FB in regards to the professioinal ranks of social networking?
Hi, all…here’s what I have in mind for tomorrow…let me know what you would like added to/prioritized in the mix.
1) Facebook basics
-Profile Page: set-up and management. What to show and not show. Searchability of interests and experiences. Management and maintenence. Status. Mini Feed. Limited Profile. Applications, the Wall, Gifts, other items.
-Home Page. News Feed. Ads. Updates from friends. Status. Preferences.
-Friends. Sortability. “How You Know.” Social Timeline. Controlling Friend viewing on search profile.
-Networks.
-Inbox.
-Privacy. Overview, hints and tips.
-Events. Setting up, managing, messaging.
-Groups. Finding, establishing, managing, tradeoffs with Pages.
-Facebook for Business overview.
-Pages. Finding Fans. Promoting. Content refresh.
-Advertising (we’ll set up a test ad).
-Polling. A/B testing. Alternatives w/in Facebook.
As time allows, we can also look at some of the better-known apps.
Please add any requests or questions. Thanks! Ellen

Can you please give a few more details about this session? It sounds very interesting, but I’d appreciate a bit more info about “business productivity.”
Thanks!
Margot
Margot, hope that the detail, above, helps. I think you will find a number of feature/functionality insights that pay off to biz…and Mari’s session, later today, will explore strategies that take advantage of Facebook features and capabilities. Just ask me if you want to know more.
Since my consulting biz revolves around empowering business on social networks–and using them to meet business goals–this will definitely be a productivity-focused session. Cheers, Ellen
