Marketing with Facebook by being an active toolbar user
In my post yesterday I wrote out a few tips for marketing your business through Facebook. One of the suggestions I made, and I think one of the easiest, is becoming an active user. If you’re on Facebook doing things, people will pay attention to who you are and, in this case more importantly, what you do.
One of the tools for being a more active user is the Facebook Toolbar for Firefox. It does a whole bunch of things to integrate your Facebook activities with your basic browser and OS activities.
I myself was late to the toolbar game, mostly because I really dislike adding rows upon rows to the top of my browser window (I feel like there’s little enough space for content as it is, I don’t need a tiny browser window framed by buttons).
But this thing is handy. It will give you notifications when someone sends you a message or posts a note. There’s a row of links that are pretty handy, including quick access to your Facebook inbox, new pokes, friend requests, and events:

And of course you can use it to search Facebook or share a web page that you’re looking at (which I recommend doing - it gets you into people’s newsfeeds).
If you’re looking to get more engaged with Facebook, this is definitely a tool to check out.
