Javascript collapsing sidebar items!

by Jason Preston on September 28, 2007

I was going to let Teresa brag about the really cool site tweak she installed last night, but she hasn’t done it yet and sooner or later someone is bound to notice.

OK, so look to your right. You see how some of those title bars have a little “+” sign in them? Click one of them.

Pretty cool, huh?

Also notice how it changes into a “-” sign when it expands?

I know that this really shouldn’t impress anyone who has spent more than three hours learning how to code javascript, but I think it looks pretty awesome. What would be really cool is if we managed to make them all into movable widgets like the things on Google’s customizable homepage or the pieces of your Facebook profile.

But I think that might actually take more than 3 hours of coding lessons ;)
